Thankyou all - I can see them from the kitchen window which is nice however I tend to over plant them - when I initally plant them up the plants seem so small so I add a few more - they look good now but next month it will go leggy and then my window view of the garden will be blocked.

I don't know whether you cut your Petunias back, but I do sometimes twice in the season...and if you take it back to the nearest bud, they'll bounce back, and may even look better second time around, mine have this year especially...:)))

Crissue thanks I assume you don't mean dead heading which I do every day. Do you mean a good chop - if so I'll give it a go.

Yes..just go back to the nearest decent bud in between two little leaves...they'll take about a week or so..If you look on my photo page, you'll be able to see my purple Petunias in the trough after the first cutback...I too deadhead everyday, but they still get leggy if you let them, and they'll flower a lot longer for you...hope this helps...You can do it with Bizzies, and lobelia too...

Kfunsters nice window box, I don't think it's over planted. The more the merrier.

Crissue, thanks for the Petunia tip, mine have gone very leggy.
