me and Kaa

me and Kaa

Back in 1988 I was a Cub Leader. We had one meeting where someone brought a couple of boa constrictors and vsarious lizards to show the boys; I finally got up my nerve and joined in - though you can see I had my coat collar turned up so it wouldn't touch the back of my neck! beautiful creature, I was surprised at how heavy and how warm it was - "cold-blooded", ha
ps, not sure now if it was a boa or a python, but it was a constrictor of some kind

We went to Morocco some years back and as a 'dare' I had a big snake round my neck, just like you in the picture. It was soooo cold!

the snake was cold?? I remember this one as being warm - but the bloke transported them in heated hags; if your one had been picked up off the ground or something not heated, that could have made the difference - they don't normally radiate heat, they can't afford to.

how big was it, roughly? This one was the smaller of the two he'd brought - "only" 6 feet or so, I seem to recall.

It was about 8' long, dunno what sort of snake it was but it was definitely cold.

lol I don't think I could have carried that much weight - the smaller one was heavy enough! *s* but as the bloke brought them along for the kids to look at and touch, he might have warmed them up first - well, he'd have needed to warm them to keep them moving; it was after dark, as I recall, and they'd have been very sluggish in that temperature.

Morocco is warmer but still ... if it was fairly early morning or early evening they'd have been slowing down as they chilled. lol do you have a pic?
