Captain Kirk (real name) on the left, the one I call Mr. Spock on the right. Pointy ears.

Didn't think of that! Red mulch, doesn't smell at all. The brown stuff used here is - well let's just say - smelly. I know they mix in horse manure and mushroom soil waste for the darkness. It take forever for the smell to disappear. The red stuff never smells.
I got 8 cubic yards (36 inches/yard) cubic = yard x yard x yard just as the spring monsoons started. Took 35 days before I could finish off the pile.
Started using cedar mulch about 25 years ago. Can't find it any more, went for this stuff because of the no odor, but it fades like mad under the hot summer sun. Every year I end up getting 6 or 8 yards. it does keep the weeds at bay. 30 minutes a week usually to deal with them/

Hi Sue,
Wish I could remember it's name. Dan doesn't either. I guessa trip to the GC might help. Only thing - IF I go into the hosta section to look for the same thing I probably will come home with another. I will take my cell along as there is a HUGE hosta there. perfect soil, shade and water I guess along with time. It must be about 6 feet across.

going to go after the party, cause I will need a day to rest up and then a day to get my head togther and put stuff away, and then I can shop at the GC.
going to 98 tomorrow I am not looking forward to an all day outside thing. Going to keep the hose set on MIST and give myself the spritz about every 30 minutes!
