I've been waiting for this, and the first flowers are no disappointment!
And yes - the stem really is that dark!

I love Eucomis...Thats a stunner Meanie...I have 'sparkling burgundy', 'Vandermernei' and 'Montana'...The sparkling burgundy isnt flowering yet...I lost a large pot of 'autumnalis' last winter..carelessness i suppose....:>)
