Wow but it will be so worth it I remember we had this with our local community garden adn for a hole year and a half all we did was hand did all the weeds and no weed killer and now we have a wonderful esablished garden still some spaces to fill with plants but not many weeds except now the usual with heat and rain .

Good luck look forward to next photo.

Thanks. It'll be really hard work and a complete pain since most of the weeds are mares tail :( Hoping to get it sorted next year. Still trying to talk my OH into dealing with the front this year (no fence to replace in the front).

Its worth it in the end. Sounds like you did a really good job on the community garden.

It'll be worth it in the end...it looks quite a long garden...Once you get that grass down, you'll probably be able to start getting a mower over it...Who knows there may be a long lost Lawn under there, once the air light and moisture get to it, it could green up...Then you'll have a base to work from....good luck...:o))

Hi Scotcat...sounds ike a good job on the Community Garden, did you take any photos lately!!.....

I think its a long long way from getting a mower over it. Its been so neglected for so long, there are huge clumps in the grass, where old grass has died down and new formed on top. The front is a lot better than it used to be, but you still can't run a mower over it lol. The number of times I've fell down holes in these gardens *shakes head* well I'm working on him lol.

Oh dear poor you...OH will have to fill the holes in, can't have the gardener getting lost down the holes...:o)))
Seriously though...you are doing a sterling job...

Lol now theres a thought, there could be caves and tunnels down those holes. One of these days he might just cme home and find the garden's been dug up lol. Thank you, lets hope I can keep on top of it. Its rained everytime I've been up since (or we've been out).

Well at least the rain will help soften the ground for you, if you are going to do any digging...:o))
