Errr - if you say so! ;-) I planted three, close to each other. One will need staking if it gets windy.

There are some beauties out there. I bought a red one for the hot border, too! I think it's called 'Red Army'.

This particular one goes on and on producing flowers if it's dead-headed. Can't be bad!

Hi Spritz, im trying to create a 'hot border' at the moment, have planted some Dahlia Bishop of Llandaff(no flowers yet) with bronze grass, but know these probably wont survive the winter, dont know whether i will get them in or not, dont usually grow them, but like your Rudbekia and the 'red army' sounds nice, we are going to a large garden centre on Saturday so hopefully will get some Heleniums and maybe more! :^)

Heleniums are hardy - and if you want really hardy Rudbeckias, go for R. 'Goldsturm'. That's a very good 'doer'. Good luck!

Thanks Spritz :^)

You're welcome. :-)

I just love Heleniums. I bought Helenium Sahin's Early Flowerer at Hidcote Manor Garden. It is so beautiful and I have Rubeckia Goldstrum beside it. I am trying to stretch the flowering season into August.

Lovely love the colour aswell.

I had 3 heleniums but have lost one this year. I think one of the remaining ones is 'Moorheim Beauty' --it was making a lovely show until the rain battered it down. I wish I had staked it now.

I've got that one - it's a lovely rich colour. :-) Sorry to hear that it got rained flat.

I do love these plants, cannot find my Moorheim Beauty I shall be cross if I have lost that one...

One of mine vanished last year - I replaced it, of course!

I find the early spring growth is very tasty to slugs and snails which might explain why they disappear

It could well be the problem, Andrew. :-(

Oh so that is what happened to it......

I do like the "wrong" proportions of these! They're a bit like a caricature if that makes sense.......
