What the heck?

meanie

By Meanie

What the heck? (Datura solanaceae)

My Datura metel appears to be trying to become a double flower. This is the second successive bloom to do this and the next one is going to do it too.
I don't like double flowers, so any more after that and it gets executed!
Shame, because this has grown to be a nice full plant.......

No chance - if it carries on like this it's for the compost! I have others to replace it.

The next one is open and the mutation has calmed down, with the next two blooms looking a lot more normal. I'll make up my mind in a week - D.metel seeds are pretty easy to come by. It would be a shame as the plant stands a metre high and is generally in good shape.........

It's temporary Crissue - it has to revert or one of its siblings will be in the pot instead!
