I think I have lost my tree fern last winter too, despite being wrapped up and kept under glass - nothing has emerged yet.

Thanks again Michaella.Don't give up Kfunsters keep feeding and watering it may be having a year off!Have you got brown hair in the crown if so then there is life.I bought 2 new ones from Vale exotics this year.They were £20 a foot plus £12p/p next day delivery.Terrific value I went for 2ft size and they both have 12fronds which have now emerged.

It is hairy at the crown, and to look at it, it looks ok, so I do feed and water it hoping it will be ok. When I tap it, it sounds hollow not soggy and dull (i think it might be a good sign)
