Sorry if this is a silly question Karen but do you leave the pods or remove them? I had read that you should remove these once they appear and did this with mine earlier this year. Now I'm worried that I should have left them :(

I honestly don't know, Lil...I just leave them because I think they're nice to look at...
Eventually they ripen and burst...so I do have to lift wisteria seedlings...
It doesn't seem to affect the flowers, tho', it's just at the tail end of it's third flush this year...

Phew! Hope you're right as this was the first year that mine flowered. Thanks.

I'm actually quite hard on wisteria...they see me coming and tremble...
I do nothing to them for three years...
...and then I remove all the long runners that I don't want, training those I do, throughout the growing season. In late autumn/early winter I prune hard, then if necessary, they get it again early spring!! :)))
I've found that it's the pruning which is key to getting good flowers... :)))

I believe you're right about pruning. I was just worried bc as I said, this was the first year I had it bloom and did not want to have done something that would have affected this for next year.
I go after the long runners all season long as well, it seems. They seem to reappear over night :)
