Can you be more specific as to the name - I dont recognise this particular one?

I believe it's Moscheutos(??). A couple of ways it differs from the regular hibiscus is the size of the blooms and the stalks are not woody. Perennial as well.

Lovely flower, I have a couple of these but not seen a white one, looks gorgeous mine are still in bud i've got a week or 2 to wait yet.

I had a white and a pink one a few years ago....they did not last the winter here (-:

I believe it's also called Hibiscus Palustris...can withstand to -5°...needs a lot of water (have been researching before buying! lol!)

Wow, I'm really surprised as our typical winter is -10 celcius, getting as low as -20. They are very late coming up in the spring and you have to leave the stalks over the winter, only removing them come spring.
I have found it to be almost weed like in its tenacity. My husband ran one over with the lawn mower a few summers ago and it came back that same year.

That sounds good to me (our winters are similar)...am off now! When I return I will have at least one (probably more, as I won't be able to decide which colour I like best!) :))))
