Hi Michaella, thank you.

I have just discover this fab website. Congrats to all concerned. However, I am almost in tears while I look at the photo of the beautiful Ballet Girl as my husband, who is pretty clueless when it comes to gardening, dug up my gorgeous plant when in full flower yesterday. I put it in a large pot with good soil and watered and fed it. Today, it looks as if it is dying. Maybe tomorrow or in a couple of days, it might start to sit up again? I am so sad. I will have to try and find a replacement but it will not be easy. I live down in the south-west of Ireland and the garden centres are spread over a large distance. I am over 70 miles from Cork.

I am sorry to hear that. But I'm afraid I cannot help you as I have also lost my lovely Ballet Girl, to vine weavils. If you take off some slips or just pieces of it and put them in water, not large pieces, just small slips, after a few weeks you may see some roots coming out from the bottom of the stem. You can then pot those up and hopefully get it going again. Failing that try one of the nurseries that specialise in Fuchsias on the internet. Good luck.

I have mixed feelings on seeing this from last year,Cinders..and just re read the comments where I raved about it,and you kindly sent me a little rooted cutting ..I feel sad you lost yours, but happy that mine is just coming into flower! ..I seem to have waited so long to see it..would you like me to take a cutting and send one back,or overwinter one,and send one next year? ..I was going to post a pic later, when more flowers have opened up..but it feels a bit like rubbing it in...:o(

Oh Sandra, please don't worry about it, I am not sentimental about it, but if it is large enough to take cuttings, then do it for yourself, as an insurance if nothing else. If you manage to get some going then we will think about it again, but I may be able to get another one where I bought the last one. I look forward to seeing what yours is like.

Thanks Cinders,I am going to take some cuttings tomorrow..just been to have a look, and there are lots of non flowering shoots at the moment..so it's a good time to try some..I will post a pic when it's got more flowers open..masses of buds on it ,so a sunny weekend should help :o)
