Agave americana - Century Plant

Agave americana - Century Plant (Agave americana - Century Plant)

Century Plants grow wild in virtually all canyons and on the sides of the mesas here in San Diego, and throughout most of California. Most of the flower spikes start emerging around March or April and then bloom in summer. Sometimes the flower spikes can grow as tall as 50ft/15m, although most top out at 33ft/10m to 40ft/12m high. I would really love to be able to have one of these in the garden.

Meanie:

I know it grows where Sandra lives in Wales. I'm guessing the climate is a little different from where you live?
