Agave americana - Century Plant

Century Plants grow wild in virtually all canyons and on the sides of the mesas here in San Diego, and throughout most of California. Most of the flower spikes start emerging around March or April and then bloom in summer. Sometimes the flower spikes can grow as tall as 50ft/15m, although most top out at 33ft/10m to 40ft/12m high. I know it grows where Sandra lives in Wales. I'm guessing the climate is a little different from where you live?
