I had one of these lovelies for 18 years, she slowed up a bit at 15!! I called her Velvet because of her ears.

Aw, they do have very velvety ears! Just like our pointers too!

Somebody told me recently that in years of keeping Jack Russel Terriers, they had never lost one before the age of 18!!! ....(sigh)......(sigh).....and when I asked him if he thought I might be able to wear mine out with the ball flinger on the beach a bit before that....he just laughed at me as if it was a ridiculous suggestion ....(sigh).....;) I took Molly to the beach on Wednesday pm and she chased that ball for an hour and a half as usual, but she was in her ....."oh yes, I want to play, but only with 'other' people, not you" mood....picture me chasing her all over the beach....so you know who's likely to be worn out first!

Yes, I would miss it if we moved in land. I've been paddling twice this week, and this morning I picked up a gorgeous piece of rock off the beach.....and the sound of the waves is so relaxing.

I would have permanently wet and sandy dogs obssessed by seagulls. Am really enjoying the birdsong at the mo! don't know which bird it is but my heart lifts everytime I hear it!
