This 20ft/6.1m plus tall Samoan Fluff Plumeria is growing happily in Santa Ana, CA. Photo taken Aug. 2008.

Santa Ana has one of the greatest climates there is anywhere. My cousins live there. Should be me..

Yes, it does...San Diego's climate is still much milder, though. I know of people who have tried Bottle Palms (Hyophorbe lagenicaulis) they just won't make it there, unfortunately.

I had a friend who lived in Culver City..right on the edge of B.Hills,I was very impressed at what I saw..and when I said something about San Diego she said "Its warmer there". To me of course both are z24 Sunsets.

It's usually a little warmer in that area than downtown San Diego (as far as daytime highs). The averages are higher in the San Diego area, though...because the nights and morning lows are higher. However, the reason why we're much warmer in winter is because the cold fronts many times only make it down to Orange County...we get spared the colder air from those weather fronts. This is why it's much drier here in much of San Diego County. I wish we would get more rain!
