Bouvardia ternifolia

Bouvardia ternifolia (Bouvardia ternifolia (Scarlet Trumpetilla))

I'm not risking planting this out - I'll keep it under glass, as opinion is divided as to how hardy it is.

I think that I would be giving that one some extra love too!

I wouldn't risk it either - it's gorgeous!

You've heard of Bob Brown? He reckons it's hardy. I've looked it up and nobody else does!

They do a fantastic range of plants there, but some of his thoughts on hardiness are a little optimistic! But having been there now I can understand how he can get away with what he does - it's full of nooks and crannies. The definition of a sheltered site.

Ah - that makes sense. :-/

My kind of place - a little shambling and haphazard, but plenty of oddities! I'll be popping in again soon hopefully.

This is a beauty Spritz, but good as Bob Brown is I wouldn`t risk it either.

I'd love to visit his Nursery, but he's not there very often in person, is he?

I wouldn't know him if I saw him Spritz, although I think that Linslass went to one of his talks............

Seaburngirl's Group had him as a speaker, too. I think it was the Hardy Plants Society. She said he brought some interesting plants, too! <green>

It was Pamd that I was thinking of Spritz - this is the reason for my next visit...............

Is it really that good in the "flesh", or should I save myself a journey?

This is what I went down for the other week............

They had so many different ones in the Alopine House, I can't remember picking it out as 'special'...sorry. Ask Pam, and see what she thinks.

I'm a bit open-mouthed at your Ferraria! :-O

You may want to close it when it blooms - apparently it's a little whiffy!
