Newer coneflower with fragrant white flowers and green centers. I just got three new coneflower varieties to add some more color in front of my perennial border

Yep, definitely a woodland setting! The rudbeckia is doing well, it's been there for a while and has spread everywhere! It struggled in July when it was really hot but has held up pretty well.

Cover it well Sticki...and fingers x'd...what about cuttings, or saving seeds...is that possible...!

dont know how to do cuttings for this but on dry days i am collecting seeds.
do i have to wait for the seeds to be dry and 'ripe' or can i pick the stem and let that happen inside??

I've never done anything with rudbeckia and it has spread all over the place. Maybe you could scatter them around and see what happens? Most of the perennials in my border were grown from seed. I scattered seeds all around the hedgerow and had flowers after 2 years.

They will self seed Sticki...but you can collect and dry, and start your own, at least you know where they are...
Cuttings is just a stem, with a minimum amount of leaf..
as the leaf will want moisture too...so less is best...then the usual Hormone Powder...

Rk I've just ordered 'Sunset' fell in love with the colour at our Nursery...do you know it...

I've never heard of Sunset but just looked up some pictures and thought the color was beautiful and unique. There are a lot of nice colors to choose from with coneflowers and there are probably dozens of varieties I've never even heard of. Thanks for mentioning that one, I'll have to look for it!
