Aster novi-belgii Fellowship

I have never been keen on Asters, but this year I seem to be falling for them for some reason. Lovely photo.

Thanks pimpernal, I always thought they were tricky to grow, but a while ago I saw a picture in one of my gardening books and it was of two facing borders full of asters, it blew me away, so I started reserching them and now I am glad I did.

Like Pimpernel, I've never been keen on asters but I've seen some beauties this year, particulary the ones with dark foliage. Might try some next summer. They attract earwigs though don't they? - not keen on those beaties.

I have not seen any so far and I think that is dahlias, I remember seeing them coming out of the pompom dahlias my mother used to grow!!

Ive had loads this year, they have been hiding in the cane toppers on my clematis and coming out at night and eating holes in the flowers...they give me the shivers!

I think you're right Lemondog, I think it's dahlias.

yes i still think of them as going in your ears because that is what i was told as i child.
