It does consist of lots of short stems in a mound. I have put on another pic of where it is growing. It clashes very badly with the red hot pokers. I'm afraid I tend to buy plants and pop them in without thinking of the overall picture. It is down on the left hand side between the bergenia and the heuchera.

Sorry that should read right hand side. I googled it and found out it can be split. I have not been able to have a look because of the weather.

It can be split so anyone wanting a piece should apply now as I will be moving it to plant Roxanne instead. I will move this to somewhere more appropriate colour wise.

That's unusual is it close to the ground(not the roots) does it have short stems hard to tell from Pic
