First garden bed.

First garden bed.

Here is our very first garden bed, edged in old red bricks & planted up with a daphne, 3 hidcote lavenders, a federation daisy, & a hardenbergia Violacea (Australian Beauty) climber ... dug out & planted up just one week ago. A large deck will be built beside this. Looking forward to watching it grow over the spring & summer months ahead.

That's my little buddy Jontay ... he seems to find his way into most photos lol. Quite the little poser. He shares our home with two bengal girls who he loves cuddling up to, & our domestic girl who he is slightly wary off.

That will soon fill out and look lovely.
I`m working my way backwards and you have just answered my question about Jontay, he looks cute and I bet he loves all that space to play in...

It is exciting seeing a new garden develop. Good luck with all the hard work you are going to be doing. I looked up the Hardenbergia but it needs a cool greenhouse in UK. This is going to be a scented garden ideal for alongside a deck. Jontay is cute.

Jontay is a little darling .... trots about after me wherever I go, or after David if I am not here. At the moment he is curled up in his bed beside the computer desk, but the moment I move, he will be up & following me. We planned that little garden bed beside the deck for the purpose of have the scent of those flowers wafting across to us as we enjoy a glass of wine in the evening lol. David has always wanted a daphne, so that was his choice. I love lavenders, so they were my choice. I knew it needed a climber along that wall, but I have roses planned for other areas, & I was worried about putting in a honeysuckle in case we got lots of bees buzzing about ... I will be having clematis elsewhere, so I spotted this & I thought it would look lovely.

Now that we are going into winter in the UK it will be nice to see how your garden gradually takes shape Dwyllis.
