The Hong Kong Orchid trees are pretty much in full bloom. This is very unusual...as they are usually in full bloom in January. Photo taken Sept. 15, 2011 in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.

Meanie:
I'm guessing the Hong Kong Orchid tree would be very difficult for you to obtain. This tree is grafted and doesn't grow well at all in pots (with the exception of huge boxes, temporarily). I think Bauhinia variegata or punctata (galpinii) would grow much better in a pot. I did get you some seeds of the Bauhinia variegata. I'll have to get more before I send them to you...maybe I'll get you some seeds of B. punctata, also (which won't ripen until late fall).
