That's my kind of landscape!

Meaning you like it, Nariz, or that it's like the landscape where you live? How high up is your house? We are at 500 metres, but have to go up to 730m just to get out of the village. What are your winters like?

Meaning both, Gattina! We're at 700 mts and have experienced (in our 5 years here) a beautiful winter when we could sit on the balcony for lunch wearing T-shirts and only one heavy snowfall followed by blazing sunshine; two fairly colder wetter winters and two (the last two!) very harsh, very cold and very long. Last winter started in early November - this year we are keeping everything crossed that it doesn't come as early. At the moment the sunshine is, apparently, set for the whole of next week - we shall see! When you get a moment, have a look at my photos - you'll see several just like this one!

Our winters arrive halfway through November almost without fail, give or take a week, Nariz. The first year we were here, I couldn't believe it. I thought it was an aberration of nature, and we didn't even have a set of winter tyres to put on the car. In 2006/7 the winter was very mild and sunny, but since then, they've been getting progressively worse. Let's hope we get a little respite this coming one. Yes, we've got a good forecast for this coming week, too, but the week after, I shall be back in the UK, and the forecast is for unrelieved rain and cold. I shall have to go up into the loft to hunt out my winter clothes and boots! We tend not to have wet winters so much, just cold, with lots of snow rather than rain, but the rivers down in the valley break bridges and their banks just the same with the snowmelt in Spring.
