This plant was given to me 3 or 4 years ago.
At the time it was a 2" high and perhaps 3mm diameter stem that he'd grown from seed !
It's now about 2' high and has produced its first flowers, there are loads of them ..... they just keep coming :-))))
I'm chuffed to bits with this plant :-)))

I love this as well. Gorgeous colour. If it's like mine (Blue) it will be 5 feet plus in no time at all.

Ydd, i was expecting this to be white and was shocked to see the crimson buds developing !!!
It's hardy down here (saw through minus 12) , do you always put yours inside for winter ?

Its my first year with it Louise, I had it outside in a pot in spring and it began to suffer, yellowing leaves etc so i put it in the greenhouse and brought it back out about july, it had loads of buds but i think it will have to go back in, the nights are cold here..

I must admit i was surprised it came through last winter, if this one's going to be another hard one i hope it copes well again.

Hi Louise. I know we live in the same area but there are dozens of Hibiscus in around us and all have come through the winters with no problem, even the worst ones. (winters) I moved mine from a shady area to one where it gets more sun. It is doing great. So, YDD perhaps yours would like a move. Is it in a pot by any chance?

Hi Songthrush !
Do yours/those flower ?
Mine has been in the ground for 5 years now and although it produces plenty of buds they don't mature and open.
I don't mind unduly because it's a good sized, nice looking bush !

If I could I would. They just will not grow for me

I find that they take too long to get growing up here, and by the time they flower, it is time for the frosts. As with so many plants, it's not the cold the cold that gets them (we have mild winters here) it's the short growing season.
