NZ Native Clianthus Puniceus Alba

White Kaka Beak. I have just planted this one into my garden .... grows up to 2 meters high. There is also a red version & a yellow version. All lovely.

I have the red and white forms - had no idea that there was a yellow form too.

I'm sure I have seen a yellow form of it in a GC recently. Might have been a kowhai as they look quite similar (to me at least)..... will check up on that, & let you know.

Have checked on the net & I think it must have been a dwarf kowhai which I mistook to be a kaka beak .... foliage & flower are very much alike. I did read that there is a red, cream/white, & a pink kaka beak. I haven't come across the pink one ... not even a photo, so not so sure about that.

Not a huge fan myself, but I may try to grow them for Sue.
