There are Begonias of this type too Sue. There is one
which is like silver color on top and the underside of the leaf is red.

I didn't know that Vav...tho it wouldn't surprise me, the varieties we get in plants is astounding sometimes...i expect another GOYer may know the Begonia...tho...:)))

It was a very common one here......but I think begonias are out of fashion now.........everyone has the craze for what is 'in'..(not me unless it is for selling purposes..I still like what I used to like..calatheas,begonias, but mostly ferns, because of it's cooling effect I think)Every one also has blogs but my blog is right here!
Thai plant people take away our wild plants that we do not take any notice of and then they mix and graft and do various things and send them back to us with exotic names at exhorbitant prices! Our people lap it up and pay any price....here most go for foliage than for flowers.
There used to be something called the Eye lash begonia which was very nice but the most difficult one to grow for many was the Iron Cross.
