It never fails does it.....I always manage to skelp my fingers or thumbs at least once when doing this kind of job!

Think I was getting tired but just wanted to get it finished, it has been such hard work, sawing and hammering, my shoulders hurt too so off for a nice soak next.

It only borders the back side of the middle border for the roses to cling on to. It is placed on top of the post and rail fence and the roses are tied into it. Hoping now they have got more support they will do better next year, they have been pretty this year but rather spindley and needed to have more support as they have grown quite a lot. Albertine, Love Knot, Rambling Rector and Super Elfin. Think Rambling Rector might be a little too much for this border but I will keep him under control, well I will try to. If he gets too big I shall move him somewhere else.

Karen if you look at aerial shots on page 10 photographs, (I think that it is the right page) you can see the post and rail fence, the trellis is around that one just alongside the raised veggie border it will give you an idea of where it is.

Glad you like it Ray, it is all in the cottage garden style, mixed perennial plants with some shrubs and roses for colour and stature/perspective. This border started off quite a small border but over the years I have taken more grass out and dug up the soil and planted more and more and it is now as big as it can be. No more room to extend it further. Probably good that as I am getting too old to be digging out any more grass the old bones are aching and starting to tell me enough is enough. LOL :o)

You know me Karen sue - I am recovering today, just pottering and taking pictures the sun is shining and there is only blue sky to be seen everywhere, not a cloud in the sky. Just been sat in garden listening and watching three Buzzards playing over the wood, they are amazing creatures. Dashed inside to get the camera and they were gone before I got back. I will get a picture one day I will I will I will. lol.

We had a good day too...bit cloudy, but lovely. We went down to the Golf to watch the celebs and pros playing in the Dunhill and we followed Tim Henman and Ross Fisher, so we were both happy! :)) Saw Hugh Grant too and Chris Evans, and Michael Vaughan, and Matthew Pincent....etc.etc. First time I've ever really been to a Golf match...it was fun...good 'people watching', which is my favourite sport of all! :))
