I thought so too, Karen! They look very healthy, I hope that doesn't mean they're too tender to get thro the coming winter....but at least I didn't pay $25. EACH.

I love this time of year for that. Last shot sales, especially here where you can't rely on them returning. I have good luck here with stonecrop and heuchera. The digitalis hasn't come back but it reseeds and I had echinacea return last year. Good luck, you never know out here in the margins. French tarragon isn't supposed to survive at all and its very reliable, huge bushes of it in a few years.

French Tarragon? I would never have dreampt... I have put these in the raised bed I made in front of the old shed...and covered them with branches to trap the snow and keep them insulated. fingers crossed.

Hi Crissue!....Our weather is nothing but wierd, wierder...wierdest! We've had two snowfalls...both have been followed by such warm weather that I'm concerned about the bulbs I've planted sprouting and being killed by a hard freeze...which is supposed to be upon us...but has not materialized so far this November. So we've thought that winter was roaring in twice and twice it's been followed by a pseudo-spring! Can't explain..must accept and hope for the best. I tucked the pots into a freshly dug bed and covered them with cedar boughs which I hope will catch and hold the snow for insulation...fingers still crossed!
