Spotted this gorgeous magnolia, newly-bred in Taranaki New Zealand & named 'Genie'. Beautiful dark plum colour. Definitely returning to get one within the next couple of weeks.

Lulu ... I am ashamed to say I have never been to Queenstown! Or Christchurch, & now a lot of that has been destroyed in two recent earthquakes. I've spent most of my adult life outside of NZ, but had always planned to visit those two places, along with Dunedin, where my father was born. Will get to them one day, I hope.

Theoldgunner ... I think this deep plum is gorgeous, & my OH & me spent half the morning yesterday studying our bare back garden & deciding where it would go. We have found the right spot for it, so now it is just a matter of getting back over to the GC & arranging for them to deliver it.
