In the previous photo I though they might be Canna, but this isn't Canna. It looks like a plant in the Acanthaceae family...which is huge! Many of the genera in the Acanthaceae family are native to Brazil.

I was thinking that it may be one of the Lobelias, but it needs a less sunny shot............

Meanie, I'll try another shot ...sunless, as it grows wild in fields, Im sure Ican get some better picture.

Are the smaller leaves attached to the plant with the red/yellow flowers?
The reason why I ask, is because I see formation of seeds which is very similar to Canna.
