Some very tall things in pots against the house Lulu...is this for later planting?

It looks lovely, I think they call this 'the golden hour' ?

Golden hour, yep.
Tall things in pots.........A golden bamboo, which doesn't like the wind, so can't plant it. A clem Pepertius, which I should really plant and one of those bamboo like, green, prehistoric plants I can't remember the name of!!

It's fantastic. Comes with hubby's job. No garden when we arrived........I got carried away. It's so peaceful here, a mile from a road and no neighbours....good for hubby's drumming and band practise and great for the 3 dogs.

How old is the cottage lulu? Is it steeped in history?

2 Oct, 2011

No one really knows Karen. It's called Thatched Cottage but isn't and builders said didn't look like it used to bee. i reckon it's about 250+ years old and the cottage plus the big house used to be part of a larger estate called Saddlewood Manor. It's on google. The manor is haunted!!

What a pity you can't find out about the cottage. It surely must have been thatched at some time if it's called Thatched Cottage! I'll go take a look at the manor....

hmm...seems that this 'dream home' is not a happy home! Hope the new owners will be happy there! What a beautiful place though eh....do you think that people who live in these places realise just how blessed they are? ;)

What a lovely place you live in Lulu. I like what you've done with the garden so far. Large gardens just eat plants don't you find?

I would get the old manor house de ghosted for a start!
Yes poppyL, eats breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner, with a little light snacking inbetween!
