Hemerocallis - 'Silk Mystique'

Hemerocallis - 'Silk Mystique' (Hemerocallis)

Not just another red daylily, the photo doesn't show the silky texture this flower has. It is 6", reblooming, evergreen, TET.

Thanks - it's become my favorite red red (as opposed to dark red, which would be 'Tang') :)

Beautiful, not one I've heard of, my favourite red one has to be 'Lips of Fire' bought several years ago from a sale list of daylilies think it was originally over £20 got it for £3!!!!,I'm never usually lucky they've normally all gone when I order, the first year it was red with a white edge the following year and this year its looked like a completely different plant fabulous bright velvety red with frilly edges, take a look at the difference Wylie, first picture is 1st picture on page 2 of my hemerocallis pictures and 2nd picture is on page 6 end of 3rd row :-)

'Lips of Fire' has, like hopefully all of us, aged very well, and the form has improved a lot over the usual. I think that soil has an influence because my flowers tend to be darker than in the pictures of the person from whom I bought them (he remarked about that when he saw my photos on Flickr).

Same here Wylie I have a couple that I thought were wrong plants but after asking on a daylily chat site was told it was either the fact our weather isn't as hot as the USA where they were bred or soil conditions, Beat the Barons which looks cream with a red eye in all pictures I've seen is actually very bright yellow with red eye in my garden, is listed as yellow though.
