It's actually quite a distance from the house. However, it's the angle which it was taken that makes it look closer. It does have quite a spread, though.

The whole back yard is south-facing. The whole house is bombarded with solar radiation all day because it's a south-facing hill.

I can see why your plants burn then esoecially being on a hill. Thdy always say here best go nuy a house south facing you get sun a day long

This tree is good for shade. This tree has never burned even during the hottest and driest conditions. Most Ficus species tolerate intense heat without any problems...it's just the cold they hate!

Yes, some varieties can grow from zone 4 and higher. Most commercial fig growing is done in zone 9 and 10 here in California. We have the best climate in the U.S. for figs.

The Central Valley of California grows pretty much grows everything commercially (citrus, pistachios, almonds, avocados, pomegranate, grapes, cotton, alfalfa and walnut). It's one of the best climates in the world for agriculture. It's why California has a multi-billion dollar agriculture.

Thanks Andy they grow quite a large variety on that map dont they pitty we could nt have more cotton here we get cheap materials at high prices that are inferior quality made seldom do we get woolen clothing or woolen coats like years ago either I dont buy jumpers here any more they are not fit for purpose for our weather and cheap crap poor quality even our shoes you have to go a size up as they are made to narrow no one can get boots to fit their ankles either they must think we are all sticks here.

lol you have nt heard me ? I ve even had the manager of Marks and Spencer phone me up asking my opinion after I ve complained. I would rather make my own or go to the 2nd hand shops where the cloths are better quality most of the time the real good second hand cloths go abroard to places in countries like Africa . You get better quality grom Europe.
