Yes, they are. My plant in the front yard is just starting to bloom for the first time this year.

I have one on the porch- blooms,and even survived a couple of freezes over the 7 or 8 years we've had it. It used to be in the wife's bathroom.

This plant is pretty hardy as long as it's in a protected spot from the sun and horrible snails. I just pulled mine out this year after 5 years. It was looking horrible from not getting enough water and being eaten constantly by snails.
