Peltophorum pterocarpum - Yellow Poinciana

For some reason the Yellow Poincianas have not bloomed in San Diego for two years. It could be due to the strange weather we've had over these last couple of years. Photo taken Oct. 15, 2011. This is what it looks like in bloom:

I'm always at Balboa Park walking my dog. So, yes I did the hat and camera walk. lol! :>)
The flowers on this tree are very sweetly fragrant, also.
