One of mine is the same Nana, going to flower any day! one has had 2 flowers and the other needs another 2 weeks of warm weather to flower lol..

Thanks Paul, Hi YDD they really are lovely aren't they but I think it was you that said they are difficult to over winter? I will be upset if it doesn't survive but I would have to get another if it does love them alot might even get two:)

Ill wait untill the offers again next year Nana, Someone said to me, treat them like daliah;'s for overwintering! I was going to double insulate with straw in the greenhouse (leaves cut down) !!! I dont know what to do, maybe experiment with them lol, see which method works..

Cannot remember what I paid for mine last year but will look round for a bargain but try your method for overwintering and keep my fingers and toes crossed:)

I just chuck the pots in the garage for the winter, then lift and refresh the soil in the spring.
If you have a greenhouse put them in there after the soil refresh.

I lost 8 canna last year Meanie in the unheated greenhouse :( im going to cut them down, repot and sink them into another bigger pot packed with straw!

I just dig the rhizomes up in October or after the first frost has killed the foliage, store the whole clump in the shed keeping it slightly damp. Divide the rhizomes in the spring into new plants or even plant a rhizome or two into pots before overwintering and put the pots on a window sill ready to plant out in the spring.
