"Chill Time"

"Chill Time"

I'm sure this black bird has done 4 broods this season. I daily rotate and water a small patch of newly cut lawn and add some meal worms and song bird food to give the pair of blackbirds a hand. This male looks like he will soon be moulting and having to feed it's self to plump on fat for winter survival.

Birds have a hard time so just for the sake of filling my empty 6 pint milk container every morning is no bother .

I have found that the birds have got dependent on me now so I change the water whilst my first kettle of the day is boiling. In summer I have seen cats and hedgehogs use so I am careful to scrub the old pot saucer daily

Thank you Kath, Have you seen the price some firms are charging for bamboo cane for bees, lady birds to over winter About 12X6" lengths of cane cut from a six footer and selling as bee tubes priced at £7.99. Let's just recycle and make our own.

I even made my own wall trellis from some old roofing baton . Just wish I was a lot fitter as I have ideas but seem to get so tired to put to practice. Perhaps I need the Special K diet and downsize a few sizes round the waist.
