I'm back at work in four days, so have to get out & about now, & even mowed the back lawn last week to get my physical strength up for some long ward duties. No more GCs or private nurseries for about a month now, as we want to get the trellis & arch dividing wall up between the side garden & the back area, but will do a blog in the morning with pics of some new areas my OH dug up over this weekend, & the new shrubs we have put into those beds. At least the plants will keep growing, even if we don't add any new ones for 4 weeks, & there are a few still not planted in yet, so will get those in next weekend.

Oh you are going to be busy. Nice to hear you're nearly back to your old self Dwyllis. If you end up with a lovely garden at the end of it, it must make it all more worthwhile. Good luck back at work, hope it all goes well for you.

Absolutely fantastic Rhodie!!

Thanks everyone. As this rhodo requires dappled or semi-shade, I have two areas in mind for it .... one would be to plant it in with my new native plant corner, with several cordylines of various height & colour, & a tree fern. It would certainly give a nice 'tropical glow' to that corner, which is to be part of a secret garden area. The other place would be in front of two large Arum lilies, where it will be in semi-shade for the greater part of the day, & benefit from a medium-sized native tree nearby. In this position we would see it from the sunporch. Will mull it all over for a few days, before making a decision.

I think I'd be taking a cutting, Dwylis, so it could be planted in both spots. They both sound like the perfect spot for this beauty.

Do they grow from a cutting? That's good news. I will have to look that up on the internet & see how it is done, & once this one is bigger, I would certainly do that. Thanks for that info Bernieh.

Gorgeous colour and shape..

When I went into the sunporch this morning, I saw that several more of those gorgeous flowers are now in full bloom, so the little bush looks even prettier. Still not planted, but will probably go into its chosen spot over this coming weekend.

Apparently late Autumn is the best time to take cuttings, Dwyllis.
