Bergenia - last one standing

Cor I can see how wet it is there with you B....good old Blighty eh...
I like Bergenia....I bought one this year, doesn't seem to grow very fast, though its healthy enough....

They are strange in my garden, some flower in spring and this one keeps itself until now. Strange plant I always think, but after saying that I love them. ps that is the pond you can see through the plant, that is why it looks so wet, (should have gone to specsavers) lol.

ooops double ooops....lol...are they slow growers B, and do they prefer moist ground !!

I think they like a bit of shade as well Crissue. I used to grow these but they need a bigger garden..they look great en masse, especially when the leaves turn red!

I bought one for the first time back in the Summer, and tho it looks healthy Karen, and is in semi/shade, it doesn't seem to have grown much...

I looked it up and it says that dry soils can stunt growth, but it prefers sun although it will tolerate shade. Perhaps it's just been a bit dry where it is?

I think I'll bring it into a Sunnier spot next year...
