Chamaedorea elegans - Parlor Palm

This is one of many Parlor palms growing in the front yard. It loves to grow in the shade the giant Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria heterophylla). There's a large Lantana to the left and the leaves of the Giant Tropical Salvia (Brillantaisia niten) to the right. Photo taken Oct. 31, 2011.

It's one of the most widely used indoor palm in the world. It grows very well in all of Coastal California in the ground, in shade.
