Thank you ladies, the dry summer really took it's toll on the grass.

Not an ugly fence, house, roof, in sight, this garden is going to take some living up to lol

Hiding fences will be the first thing when I move Dotty! Be nice to find somewhere with some mature shrubs already in but most I have seen so far have been neglected and unplanted.

There aren't enough of us plantaholics around Annie!

Lol your right Karen! Having said that I want a fresh start not someone else's well planted garden.

Ah, well...there you go then...can't say I blame you. Having started from scratch twice, I can't imagine inheriting a garden!

Same here.....I think I would find it hard to undo a garden that was well planned and feel obliged to live with it.

I wonder if we would...I mean, to begin with for sure...but after a while I think we would start to 'see' what we could do with it, and there again, having some established trees and shrubs would be a bonus and save us some 'waiting' time!....and you know how I hate to wait!!

I had to wait here but Wilby was surrounded by lovely mature trees which was a bonus I admit. The garden itself was a blank canvas which I ended up shaping to give it a woodland feel. Must find those pics and scan some.

That would be good. Are you off today? My arches have just arrived...they look good, nice rounded rustic wooden ones. I shall have to paint them of course, but I think I'll do that after they're in situ. If we get good weather tomorrow, Scott might put them together for me....we'll see. It's horrid here today, cold, damp, misty, grey....:( But we had THREE days of sunshine so I can't complain really!

No at work Lol! Bored and cold...

Poor you...at least I am bored and cold at home! Can easily get more clothes from my cupboard! Actually, I've just put the heating on and now I'm off to get some socks!
