Yes, this my favorite orchid tree. It has the largest leaves, flowers and most fragrant flowers of all the Bauhinia. It's also one San Diego's most widely planted winter-flowering street trees.

Yes, the Hong Kong Orchids flowers are spectacular.

Good luck with the orchid! I have such bad luck with orchids even though they grow outside here very well.

Good luck with the Angel's Trumpets, also. :>))

Thank you Andy orchids dont like direct sun light they love company of others plants especially other orchids indoors they like their leaves sprayed with warm water indoor ones like their roots exposed to light hence why they sell them here in see through plastic pots best kept on a windowsill but not direct sun light watering not to let their roots sit in water it will kill them I use to run the tap on over them in the sink and let the excess water run through so they are not sitting in any water. They need repotting with new orchid soil and bark bits every 2 years and feed when stsrting to flower. Hope this helps you.

My orchids have done much better outside in a semi-shaded area. My neighbors have tons of orchids in their yard. They do so well even in mostly sun. I like Anthuriums better. I just threw out some very old (almost 10 years old) ones...will probably buy some new varieties. They do terrific outside flower all year long in semi-shade. I have a shade structure where they do well. I have a very large-leafed one Anthurium 'Lazarzs' I had it for 16 years. Its leaves are almost as big as me!

Here's a pics of my Anthurium 'Lazarz'
