Another red seedling. The blood red colour doesn't show on the picture. It is blooming its second year.

Yes many of them looks pink when they are actually red. I'm still finding my way with the camera. When I try to take a photo early in the morning, the flash goes off and then it seems to be too shiny and I have to do it all over again....

Have you tried standing in front so the flower is in shade? My camera has a setting for flowers in bright sun, then I shade the flower and take the picture. :)

Thanks Michaella! Wylie it sounds to me if you have a pretty neat camera there. What type is it? I will continue practising and make sure of the shade. :-))

Mine is a ordinary Kodak. I learned about taking pictures when I was in the US Navy (for 20 years). After leaving a port, there wasn't much to do except 'critique' each others photos and suggest how to improve. I miss the film type cameras, but I can now take 10 pictures to get the right one to post.

I must try and find the time to look at your pictures, I'm sure I will be delighted. This is the busiest time of the year and December will be daylily peak time here. I have hundreds of seedlings that must get into the daylily beds, but it is a little bit too hot now. Except for today - a lovely cool cloudy day!

I know what you mean - some of these are really tough to photograph. I have found that first thing in the morning seems to work best.
