This is in the Alpine House at Kew,labelled as Whiteheadia biflora, which I think is a synonym. Just posted a picture.

i thought W.Biflora was slightly different Rbt, if not i've learnt something new today and it's only 12.30pm :-))

Had a look at your photo Rbt, I agree with Sl, the plant in your pic W.biflora is different my M. ecinata, it is starting to open out now will post another photo tuesday when I have a day off.

I will see if I can get any more info at Kew.
