After mowing the lawn 20.11.11

I hope to have one more mow to tidy up leaves !
Did you find a lot of worm casts ?

TT we have so many worms and this is why Mr Brock is in every night digging up the lawn.......bless....I don't think!! I think it will be another two months before we can say good bye to the leaves!

I've been delaying mowing because I was expecting next door's huge silver birch to chuck the rest of its leaves on my garden, as usual ..... but it hasn't happened yet ...

Silver birches are quite late usually, although mine are all bare..but the ones on the green at the front of my house are hanging on.

It never ceases to amaze me how colourful your garden is all year around Annie. Btw, saw a hebe today just down the road from here on my doggy walk...it looked exactly like yours, so I may give that one a try!

I was surprised because both the top and bottom lawn were dry enough to cut, the clay is normaly far too wet and slippy by now. TT, not too many worm casts so I could get them off first. I think this may be the last cut this year unless it stays reasonably dry, the rest of the leaves will have to be raked up. We usually have quite strong winds by now that blow a lot of the Ash leaves straight out into the field behind.
It's worth a go Karen. Mine was completely untouched by last winter and even flowered straight after the snow had gone + a nice patch of evergreen fence cover.

That lawn looks good Annella - like a green carpet.

That's the best it has looked in months Frybo, the lack of rain this summer left it brown and patchy.
