The flowering buds are just starting to emerge on Aloe barberae in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. Photo taken on Nov. 14, 2011.

I've never seen an Aloe like this - I thought that it was an epiphytic growth at first........

I have posted photos of this species of Aloe many times in the past. It's a very common Aloe...it's also the tallest growing one, to 30ft/10m plus.
