I'm half way through a project on my own garden. I call it Project 'Circle'. You've inspired me. Think I'll do what you've done and create a blog on its progress. This looks fab Nickya, I wouldn`t mind walking round in circles in this area the planting looks very healthy and lush, how you intend to improve it will be interesting to see.

Hi Nickya, sorry I missed this message yesterday. Happy New Year to you! About the "Keyhole" garden, I have decided to fill the soil area using bricks.. any gaps left will be filled with rockery plants which will then soften the edge of the circle. If the weather keeps up the way it is at the moment, I hope to start gardening from Wednesday. I look forward to seeing your project :))))

Thanks Michaella. Apart from today's strong winds, the weather has been so mild. I've managed to keep going in the garden this holiday. Can't stop planting Alliums and Tulips :)

And thanks very much Stroller! Let's see if the huge doses of organic matter and bark mulch (to add in Spring) stop my new planting from drying out this Summer. By the way, I see that you have a marvelous Melianthus Major (did I see two?) I've had mine for two years now. Should reach 5ft this year. Lost two previously but learnt my lesson and have fleeced my latest one to bits. Seems to be doing the job - only thing is this year the straw mulch at the base has set seed due to the mild conditions. I keep having to dig up the seedlings! Nicky.
