A big plant

I don't know what this is, but it's about 5 feet tall, and grows with little care and lots of sun.

Is it one of the Agaves?

It does look like the Agave attenuata. If it ever flowers I'll know for sure. :)

Fortuately it's a big softy - no sharp teeth to bite back. Even the tips are not hard, making it better than a yucca.
