I love the Christmas trees sending out light all over the world. It is a message of hope every bit as strong as on that first Christmas. May you all have a joy filled Christmas.

We had a lovely Christmas Day with friends. It was our turn to cook as we take turns because we both have families who live too far away to visit on Christmas Day and we are all getting to the age when Home is best. We have had awful winds here for a week now but yesterday it disappeared so we took the opportunity to visit my sister in Dunbar. We had a meal at the local Italian Restaurant and enjoyed the wonderful lights in the town. The local traders realising they were going to be just another abandoned High Street fought back by ensuring that the Christmas Lights draw people in from miles around to enjoy what few other towns now bother to do. Householders throughout the town also join in and put on wonderful bright displays to shout of the joy of Christmas. I hope you all had a lovely day. My Christmas tree is artificial but it still looks the part after about 35 years. I admit to finding decorating using lights easier than lots of baubles although there are plenty of them too. Happy 2012 from a windy rainswept Central Scotland.
