we don't usually see hedgehogs in this garden as we have badgers, unfortunately badgers eat them in a really horrid way! Spotted this one and hopefully he safely hibernating now! Used to have lots in last garden and loved to see them especially when they had little hoglets!

i do love the badgers and luckily the main diet of them is not hedgehog just if they come across them and think like most things have their own territory for survival, mostly grub around in ground and they adore peanuts i can tell you!

Hi Maezymare, welcome to Goy! I dont get hedgehogs anymore either because our neighbours have a large woodland type garden full of foxes. They eat hedgehogs too and just leave the outer skin with all the prickles on behind. A bizzare find when you clean up the garden!!! uuugggh. It is nice to see the young fox cubs playing around in late spring though.

Thanks for welcome Poppylover. I did'nt know foxes did that, you have solved the mystery as i found such a skin in my last garden and did'nt understand it..now i know yuk!! Explains why i never normally see hedgehogs here they got foxes & badgers after them :( Hope you don't find too many skins, not nice for you!
