Same to you. Same old, same old, nowt much on telly so I've spent hours on here ... sad eh? We were out last night for a meal so couldn't be bothered tonight - mind, I've had several glasses of wine!!!

I'm tea total...that's why the whiskey fuddles my head.

Oh Ain't that lovely? What a lovely, positive start to the year! Thank you, Pimpernel.
I was shattered last night. Still am. We had a houseful of guests from midday yesterday. Up at 5.45 to get massive turkey into the oven, and then non-stop cleaning, cooking and being the "perfect hostess" and making polite conversation and trying hard not to be caught looking at the clock. So tired, and then felt guilty at not wanting to stay up and see both (Italian and UK) new years in, but did, then couldn't get to sleep, so went down the antihistamine route. Just barely awake now and dreading going down to the kitchen full of debris. OH made a start with two dishwasher loads last night, but today we have to finish clearing up, making soup with all the leftovers, and hauling all the furniture back into place. All this, and it's a gorgeous day out there - we want to get out into the sunshine and do some fairly vigorous digging and walking instead to clear the headache. No, not alcohol-induced, just chronic sinusitis.
Goodness, what a bundle of fun I am. Not. Sorry, everyone.

So how did lunch go, P? Recovered yet?

Oh....I had promised Lancashire Hotpot, that was already an iffy choice as Mum is a Wiltshire Lass and they have their own. My delicate condition was noted though and all settled for a Chicken salad using all the left overs. I sent them packing with a full stilton...recovery happened about 11pm after consuming a meat&potato pie. Stodge cures everything!

MMMmmm, yes! Have to agree with that one. Creates it's own probs, tho' if you eat too much. Glad you're recovered. I'm putting off the evil moment when I have to go downstairs and make a start on cooking a mammoth turkey-and-leftover curry. It should see us through to March, tho'.
